Day 1 Kunming Arrival

Upon arrival at the Kunming International Airport, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel.Kunming, famed as the "city of Spring", boasting interesting diversified folk cultures and splendid natural scenery.

If time permits today,we`ll visit the Green Lake .Green Lake Park features clear water, verdant willows, and tropical forests. It looks like a glistening emerald in Kunming City.

Day 2 Kunming -Stone Forest -Kunming

Meet you at your hotel in the morning, then drive you to West hill .Since it is situated in the west of the Kunming City, it is called West Hill by the locals. Seen in distance, West Hill resembles a "sleeping beauty". In West Hill, you would be surrounded by tress, flowers, birds and waters, which lives up to its fame "The First Wonder in Kunming".

After that ,we`ll visit Yunnan Nationality village,there are 26 villages in the village, each for an ethnic minority of Yunnan, together with the Ethnic Unity Plaza, the Ethnic Performance Hall, the Ethnic Museum and the Ethnic Wax Museum. It is a miniature of Yunnan's ethnic peoples.

Then drive back to your hotel.

Day 3 Kunming-Dongchuan

In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up in your Kunming hotel, drive about 3 hours to Dongchuan Red land ,check in at the hotel, then head for Luoxiagou to see the fabulous red land and enjoy the amazing sunset view of Dongchuan Red Land with local villages and farmland.

Stay overnight in Dongchuan Chunqiu guesthouse.

Dongchuan Red Land is praised as the “Lost Palette by the God”, and is favored by backpackers, hikers and photographers. The red land is decorated by different colors of crops; every color of the palette represents the hard work of sweating farmers.

Day 4 Dongchuan-Kunming

Get up early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise of Damakan village, visit Jinxiu garden, Moon field. After Lunch, drive back to Kunming.

Basically Dongchuan Red Land in Kunming is an all-year-round destination. But the time periods from September to December, from January to February and from May to June are highly recommended.

Day5 Kunming -Stone Forest -Jianshui

After breakfast, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel, drive to Stone Forest which is composed of 7 scenic districts and occupies more than 400 square kilometers in coverage, which is crowned as "the greatest world wonder" and "the stone forest museum". You can appreciate the local folklore of the Yi, Zhuang, Miao and Yao ethnic groups.

And then drive to Jianshui. Visit the Jianshui Old Town , which is renowned as "Museum of Ancient Buildings and Residential Houses", with ancient buildings and architectures dated back to over 1,200 years ago. Visit the Zhu Family Garden, it was a private residence of three brothers, it took 30 years to build up, a outstanding example of a Qing Dynasty traditional ancestral home, once there were more than 200 family members living in, the spacious 20,000 sq-meter complex consists of ancestral buildings, family homes, ponds, gardens.

Visit the old well and local Toufou workshop,then back to your hotel ,if you like ,you can taste the local roast Toufou.

Day 6 Jianshui -Yuanyang

After breakfast, drive around 30 minutes to visit the old well-preserved Tuanshan village of Qing dynasty.Visit Zhang's Family Garden which is located in tuanshan village ,it was constructed in the 31st years of Emperor Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1905),it`s really a worth visiting place. And then, drive to Yuanyang to visit the amazing sunset of terraced fields of Laohuzhui (Tiger Mouth) .

Day 7 Yuanyang -Kunming

After breakfast, visit Bada Terrace and Qingkou Hani ethnic village, after lunch, drive back to Kunming.

Day 8 Kunming-Dali

Take the morning flight /train from Kunming to Dali ,upon arrival our guide and driver will pick you up at Dali airport ,then transfer to your hotel.We`ll visit the Three Pagodas in Chongsheng temple,Three Pagodas comprise three independent pagodas forming a symmetric triangle. The elegant, balanced and stately style is unique in China’s ancient Buddhist architectures, which makes it a must-see in the tour of Dali.

Then We`ll explore the famous Dali Ancient City and Foreigner Street.Visit Xizhou Town and Zhoucheng village.

Day 9 Dali-Shaxi

In the morning,drive from Dali to Shaxi Old Town,visit Sideng Street, Ancient stage and Yujin Bridge. Shaxi is a famous beautiful historical and cultural town (village) in the ancient tea horse road. Its history can be dated back to 2,400 years ago. Now listed on the World Monuments Fund’s most endangered towns. With the end of the caravans bringing war horses from Tibet in exchange for Yunnan tea, Shaxi began to lose its prominence as a trading centre and fell into decline. The Friday market still exists and is vibrant, but limited to buying and selling of goods from the area.

drive to Shibaoshan mountain, visit Shizhong(Stone Bell) Temple and Grottoes, Baoxiang Temple, Wild Monkey .

Shibaoshan Mountain is located in south-west of Jianchuan County,25 kilometres far away , Yunnan province, because of red sandstone on a hill , and it looks like turtle-shaped crack, lion-like and clocks, so it is named as Shibao.

Day10 Shaxi-Lijiang

After breakfast,drive from Shaxi to Lijiang.Upon arrival,our local guide will help you to check in at your hotel.Visit Shuhe Old Town in the afternoon.

Shuhe was once a staging post at ancient Tea & Horse Road. it is also part of the UNESCO Heritage site.

Shuhe is the earliest settlement of Naxi people in Lijiang when their ancestors first moved to this region.

Day 11 Lijiang

Today you`ll first visit Black dragon pool and Dongba Museum, to explore the rich Naxi minority culture

Then you`ll head to Lijiang old town and visit Mu`s palace and Wangu tower.

--Lijiang Old Town has a history more than 800 years; it was listed as the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997. Here you will see the wonderful wooden architecture of Naxi ethnic people.

--The Mu’s Residence is the former residence of the Tusi Mu in Lijiang. Tusi is a kind of official position in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties that leaders of minority ethnic groups were appointed hereditarily by emperors of the time.

Throughout its long history, a large amount of the original buildings were damaged during the wars.

Luckily, after an earthquake in 1996, the World Bank recognized the value of the Mu’s Residence and made a heavy loan for its restoration. With craftsmen’s careful design and construction, the Mu’s Residence reappears in the world as if a phoenix reborn from the ashes.

Day 12 Lijiang -Tiger Leaping Gorge -Shangrila

In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up in your Lijiang hotel. Drive 50km/1h to the First Bend of Yangtze River, which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. When the river reaches Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows further northward, forming the rare U-shape bend.

Then drive to visit Tiger leaping gorge .Tiger Leaping Gorge [HuTiaoXia]: A contender for the world's deepest river canyon. Around 15 km in length, the gorge is located where the river passes between 5,596m Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and 5,396m Haba Snow Mountain in a series of rapids under steep 2000 meter cliffs. Legend says that in order to escape from a hunter, a tiger jumped across the river at the narrowest point [still 25 meters wide], hence the name. [2h] Continue driving to Shangrila,visit Dukezong Old Town and largest prayer wheel.In the evening,you`ll join in the Guozhuang dance with local Tibetan people in Yueguang square in Dukezong Old Town.

Day 13 Shangrila

In the morning, we`ll visit the Songzanlin Monastery, which is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province and is sometimes referred to as the Little Potala Palace. Afterwards,we`ll visit a local Tibetan family.

Then we`ll visit the Pudacuo National Park and Napa Lake.

Pudacuo Park is mainly comprised of Shudu Lake, Militang Pasture and Bita Lake; the elevation there ranges from 3,500 meters to 4,000 meters above the sea level. As an inseparable part of the Three Parallel Rivers-a world natural heritage by UNESCO, Pudacuo Park also functions as a natural reserve.

Day 14 Shangrila - Departure

Our guide and driver will see you off at Shangrila airport.
